Puma and Asphaltgold are pleased to announce the second part of their collab project - a tribute to Italian hospitality and mentality - ciao Puma x Asphaltgold Palermo “Sedia”!
‍
‍
The second Palermo is called “Sedia,” which means “chair.” The name alludes to a well-known Italian children's song: “Aggiungi un posto a tavola, che c'è un amico in più”, which is also an Italian saying and means “Put a chair next to it, because there is another friend coming”.
‍
‍
The Palermo “Sedia” symbolizes Italian hospitality, a sense of friends and family, togetherness and shared memories.
‍
‍
To honor La Dolce Vita, Asphaltgold traveled to Milan for content creation with Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi “Gigi” Buffon, who played more than 500 Seria A games for Juventus Turin and more than 20 years in the Squadra Azzuro jersey!

‍
The Puma Palermo is a classic terrace silhouette, straight from the Herzogenaurach archives. Released as a soccer training shoe in the 1970s, the Palermo then gained attention in the stadium stands in the 80s -

‍
typical of this era, equipped with a gum sole and a suede and nylon upper.
‍
‍
The most distinctive feature has always been the Palermo logo tab, which is on the side of the shoe... and could possibly hide something underneath.
‍
‍
Asphaltgold already had such exciting Easter eggs hidden in its predecessor, the Puma x Asphalt Gold Palermo “Scopa".
‍
‍
At first glance, the “Sedia” appears very subtle with its various shades of gray and beige. But Asphaltgold has once again incorporated special details into this collab.
‍
‍
The legendary Monobloc chair, which everyone knows and which symbolizes sitting together in large groups, can be found both on the insole and on the tongue of the sneaker.
‍
‍
As an allusion to the children's song that inspired the sneaker design, the “Sedia” also contains several “hidden messages” that reproduce parts of the song's lyrics.
