HOKA and BEAMS have joined forces for the first time, celebrating the Japanese retailer’s 50th anniversary with a collaborative take on the Bondi 7.

For the collaboration, BEAMS combines the running silhouette’s signature comfort with a design language shaped by Japanese aesthetics and American casual style.

The color palette of the HOKA x BEAMS Bondi 7 draws inspiration from Japanese Zen gardens. More specifically, it references the textured earth tones of traditional Karesansui gardens and the weathered wooden surfaces of historic temples. The result is two colorways: Chestnut / Black Bean and Turtledove / Tidal Foam.

The upper features a camouflage pattern developed exclusively for the collaboration, with both brand names subtly integrated into the graphic. The design retains the Bondi 7’s functional foundation while giving the silhouette a more lifestyle-focused look through BEAMS’ distinctive design perspective.

The shoe retains the maximum cushioning and signature comfort of the original Bondi 7. This performance-driven foundation is paired with a redesigned upper and a restrained color palette inspired by natural textures.

For BEAMS, the collaboration was about moving beyond the boundaries of traditional sportswear. Using one of HOKA’s most recognizable silhouettes as its starting point, the Japanese retailer created a shoe that fits naturally into the American-influenced casual style at the heart of its identity while offering a fresh perspective on the Bondi 7.

The HOKA x BEAMS Bondi 7 launches globally on August 14 and will be available through select retailers such as BSTN.
