For their latest collaboration, inspired by worlds far beyond our own, Mizuno Sportstyle and AFEW present a reimagined take on the MXR: “OAG3”.

Originally rooted in a Y2K athletics aesthetic, the silhouette is reinterpreted through a futuristic, multi-layered lens.

The Fog/TigersEye/DesertPalm palette draws from desert landscapes where communities extend across wide horizontal planes before gradually building upward.

‍

‍

An environment that takes familiar elements and translates them into a futuristic visual language. It’s this very tension that underpins the MXR OAG3.

‍

The concept draws from space travel and near-future worlds in which technology and evolution are closely intertwined.

The collaboration becomes a form of creative exploration, deliberately pushing into new opportunities and perspectives.

Despite the extensive rework, the MXR “OAG3” remains firmly rooted in the DNA of the original MXR.

The newly developed Toe Box aligns with a revised Tongue that incorporates a continuous quick-lacing system, placing AFEW’s dystopia-inspired design signature at the forefront.

‍

In the heel area, distinctive midsole branding and refined bubble details add subtle visual depth.

An asymmetrically placed Runbird shifts between the medial and lateral sides, while a themed insole artwork completes the design.

The Mizuno x AFEW MXR “OAG3” will be released on December 13th exclusively at AFEW.
