Inspired by sport and architecture, Axel Arigato presents a new sneaker model: Clay. Influenced by the tennis style of the 80s and 90s, Clay reinterprets the design of the sports shoes of the time for today.

‍

Inspired by the wardrobe of tennis icons like Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras, this lifestyle sneaker embodies the essence of what was once worn on the court and transforms it into a shoe designed for after the game — you wear it to watch rather than play in.

Handmade in Vietnam from LWG-certified leather and suede, the clay is a material and detailed study. The sneaker is available in multiple layers of paint in a palette of timeless shades: beige/black, beige/dark brown, beige/white, cream white/green, cream white/dark blue and black/gray.

The clay's outsole has a pivot point, which refers to the technical features of professional tennis shoes. It represents a harmony between sportiness and urban design:

Inspired by the steel and glass architectural forms of London's cityscape, Clay combines sharp edges and clean lines to create a dynamic visual effect that is reminiscent of light and shadow.

The soft suede that covers the heel cap and toe cap gives the shoe a luxurious, sporty touch, while the terry cloth insert in the tongue gives a feeling of nostalgia and combines functionality with a touch of vintage look.

Building on Axel Arigato's characteristic minimalistic style, the perforated 5-hole pattern of the sneaker is a subtle homage to Dice silhouette, while embroidered accents give the shoe a playful, dynamic character.

The Arigato branding is subtly embossed in gold on the side and tongue, while a 3D relief logo can be seen on the midsole.
