A cornerstone of the adidas universe for over a decade, adidas SPZL returns this season with a fresh collection. The Spring/Summer 2025 line is a cinematic homage to adidas’ past and present — reimagined with a forward-looking edge. Brought to life through the distinct creative vision of Gary Aspden and his team.

As always, adidas SPZL draws from the archive to bring iconic silhouettes into the now. This season, the footwear selection features six models — each reimagining a classic or introducing an innovative hybrid design.

‍
It starts with the TRX Mesh SPZL — a modern version of the classic TRX, which preserves the characteristic blue-yellow but redesigns the outer material into a new pattern.

The Handball Cup SPZL combines iconic handball silhouettes from the 80s and is based on the Handball Spezial from 1983 (including the classic blue and white shade).

The design is finished with a curved leather overlay beneath the collar — a nod to the Handball Top — along with a striking red accent, a dimpled tongue, soft suede uppers, and a classic gum sole.

The Failsworth SPZL once again reflects SPZL’s creative reinterpretation of the archive, taking inspiration from the little-known adidas Barbados. Its low-profile suede design with a T-toe construction echoes the look and feel of the vintage Universal SL.

The model is rounded off by a chocolate brown tongue label, as you know it from the “Made in France” classics.

Another low-profile remix is the Roelee SPZL — the successor to the Whalley SPZL.

‍
This is where the Gazelle SPZL's foxing details meet the Whalley SPZL's upper material, complemented by an extended T-toe overlay construction that reaches down to the heel.

The Pampanga SPZL is named after a province in the Philippines and is based on the extremely rare adidas Squire produced there.

The vintage outsole is retained, but the outer material is modernized with a new design and a narrower toe box.

‍
A particular highlight is the A Aspden SPZL — a new court hybrid based on historic tennis models. The basis is the adidas Las Palmas, combined with outer materials and details from various 70s court styles.

‍
To add an authentic signature detail, the design team chose to feature the signature of Gary Aspden’s late father — a personal tribute to his work as an engraver and his distinctive handwriting, which complements the shoe’s aesthetic perfectly.

adidas SPZL is also continuing its established design language in the apparel sector:
The highlight of the collection is the Halewood SPZL parka made of lightweight nylon with a large tone-on-tone embroidery logo on the back — available in forest green and black.

the Mod SPZL tee, which all embody the typical SPZL style.

The Hudswell SPZL jacket and matching shorts incorporate sporty elements, implemented in ripstop materials.

The Salesbury SPZL Trousers come with a relaxed tapered cut, zip pockets and half cuffs.

The line-up is rounded off by the Wardour SPZL vest, which adopts the pocket design of the popular Wardour jacket — this time as a sleeveless gilet with tone-on-tone “Mod Trefoil” print on the back — ideal for layering in spring.

In the accessories section, there is the ST10 SPZL bag, inspired by the colors and materials of the iconic ST rain jackets,
