With the Wave MG4 LS, Mizuno Sportstyle once again draws from its own design archives. Originally designed by Tuan Lee as a complement to Mizuno’s Y2K runner range, the silhouette has been reworked and reissued for its latest release.

‍

‍

‍

The MG4 dates back to a period that Mizuno refers to as its “Golden Age of Design.” Tuan Lee was part of the brand’s design studio at the time, where he developed silhouettes that helped define the look of the era.

The accompanying campaign was shot in Amsterdam at the height of summer, capturing the sneaker as part of everyday city life. Friends meeting up after work, bicycles, and industrial settings shape the scenery.

The focus is less on performance and more on positioning the MG4 within a contemporary lifestyle context.

‍

The model launches in two versions: OG and Tech, each available in two colorways.

‍

‍

‍

The Wave MG4 LS OG stays closer to the original design and comes in Cloudscape/Royal Lilac/Galaxy Silver and White/Artisan's Gold/Galaxy Silver.

Semi-transparent details reference the silhouette’s original tooling.

‍

‍

The Wave MG4 LS Tech offers a cleaner, more progressive take on the design. It comes in Black/Iron Gate/Metallic Gray and Foggy Dew/Harbor Mist/Silver.

While the OG leans into the model’s retro character, the Tech version translates Tuan Lee’s design language into a more contemporary look.
