Moncler and adidas Originals present their new joint collection, which is inspired by the journey from mountain peaks to the city.
This is where the origins of Moncler from the mountains meet the urban origins of adidas Originals, with functionality taking shape on both sides of the collaboration.
‍
‍
The campaign, titled “The Art of Explorers,” focuses attention on the discoverer herself. Since human entrepreneurial spirit is a central ideal of both brands, the explorer is brought into focus as a common symbol, first through a series of AI-generated adventurers and finally through a collection of unique mixed-media sculptures.
‍
‍
The campaign slogan “Where Originality Meets Extraordinary” is an allusion to Moncler's positioning as a long-standing innovator in performance and functionality and to adidas Originals' enduring legacy as a pioneer of culture and creativity.
‍
‍
Following on from the show “The Art of Genius,” where the collaboration was presented for the first time at London Fashion Week in February, artists from various disciplines have been called upon to create human-like explorers who are inspired by the collection's looks.
‍
‍
The sculptures by Gary Card, Ibby Njoya and Kate Tabor were brought to life by photographer Hanna Moon, as were the real explorers, who were styled by Ai Kamoshita and fitted with makeup and accessories by Isamaya Ffrench.
‍
‍
In addition, a new immersive platform is being launched on moncler.com, which presents exclusive products and details of the collection in a digital gallery that is reminiscent of the vibrant streetscape of the metropolis where the “The Art of Genius” show took place earlier this year.
‍
‍
‍
By combining sound, video and 3D animation, users dive into a city street where exclusive products and 3D works of art are gradually unveiled and the collection can be purchased via digital billboards.
‍
‍
The Moncler x adidas Originals collection includes long and short puff jackets as well as training jackets and vests, which reinterpret Moncler's signature shapes in iconic, lacquered nylon with Adidas Originals details such as adi-break inserts.
A mix of bright colors in shades of green, orange and red is reminiscent of traffic lights, only to oscillate between concrete gray and sky blue, over off-white and organic dark green.
‍
The sinuous quilting, jacquards and prints are inspired by the patterns that skiers create on snow-covered slopes.
Moncler gives the adidas Originals NMD a winter makeover in GORE-TEX, complemented by padding. The iconic adidas Originals Campus was also covered in upholstery to match the Moncler look.
‍
‍
The Moncler x adidas Originals collection will be available in selected Moncler and adidas stores from October 5, 2023. Keep an eye on our Sneaker release calendar.
