The setting is a classic country club – elegant and traditional at first glance, but beneath the surface, conventions are subverted. Through playful styling and surreal details, the space is reimagined with a wink.
The result is a bold reinterpretation of tradition, seen through CLOT’s unmistakable lens and subtly nodding to the adidas Originals DNA.

“The Stan Smith is a silhouette I wanted to explore from the very beginning of our partnership,” said Edison Chen, founder of CLOT.
“Integrating an espadrille sole into such a legendary sneaker was a unique challenge, but it opened up new creative possibilities that reflect the spirit of both tradition and rebellion.”

The new CLOT Stan Smith espadrille reflects how the iconic tennis shoe is transformed under Edison Chen’s visionary direction. Instead of overt symbolism, the fusion of cultures is expressed through carefully selected materials and refined textures.
The white version pairs a clean, deconstructed upper with a traditional espadrille sole, elevated by intricate embroidery that adds depth and dimension.

The black version takes things a step further: a jute-inspired construction preserves the classic espadrille aesthetic without the challenges of dyeing natural fibers.
It also features the same deconstructed upper approach – this time complemented by a distinctive chenille heel detail that adds tactile contrast. Both colorways are finished with subtle CLOT and Stan Smith branding on the heel tab – a refined nod to the collaboration’s shared signature.

The apparel line also stands out with distinctive details: crocheted cotton vests, striped polos paired with fringed shorts, and a tailored camp shirt featuring delicate lace embroidery along the iconic Three Stripes.
The color palette – a mix of forest green, cream, chocolate brown, and subtle accents of burgundy and gold – draws on classic varsity aesthetics while blending traditional sportswear cuts with contemporary lightness.
