The Allerdale is the latest silhouette in the New Balance Made in UK collection. Named after the historic region in Cumbria — home to the New Balance manufacturing facility in Flimby — this brand-new model combines the heritage of New Balance hiking boots with a modern design for a more elegant aesthetic.

The Allerdale impresses with high-quality comfort and timeless elegance. Its careful workmanship and timeless look are combined with proven FuelCell cushioning technology, which ensures long-lasting comfort.

Thanks to high-quality Made in UK manufacturing, the model features a premium leather and suede upper, while an OrthoLite insole provides additional comfort.

The robust cup sole with reinforced seams ensures stability and is equipped with a profile sole inspired by hiking boots, which underlines the outdoor character.

The design is complemented by D-Ring Lacing, decorative stitching and a woven tongue label with illustrations of the Lake District. Minimalistic branding in the form of an embroidered NB Flying logo rounds off the clean silhouette.

Sam Pearce, Creative Design Manager at New Balance, explains:
“This is a new market opportunity for New Balance, one which looks beyond only retro running by capitalising on a shift towards a more formal and tailored approach to fashion. A cleaner, stripped back silhouette with a focus on premium materials that are already synonymous with Made in UK production.”

“Building on the legacy of our revolutionary Hiker models, and our lesser-known walking collection of the 1980s – which were also made in England – this design was born and named by its very surroundings. The ‘Allerdale’ is a modern expression of a classic style, built for those who want to walk their own path.”

The New Balance Allerdale MiUK (UADWBRN) in brown leather will be released on March 20th at 43einhalb, AFEW Store, Asphaltgold, HHV and SUPPA.
