Vans and Hockey revive the AVE Classic

Vans and Hockey are bringing back the AVE Classic. Originally shaped by Anthony Van Engelen’s uncompromising approach to skateboarding, the reissued silhouette has been updated with modern skate technology, premium materials, and Hockey’s unmistakably raw aesthetic.

The Vans AVE Classic by Hockey has been stripped down to its essentials and rebuilt for performance. Proven Vans skate technologies equip the shoe to withstand impact, abrasion, and extended sessions.

DURACAP underlays reinforce high-wear areas, while POPCUSH insoles provide responsive cushioning without compromising boardfeel. Underfoot, SickStick rubber and Vans’ signature waffle outsole deliver reliable grip and control.

The design draws on the model’s original lineage while moving the silhouette forward. A full-leather upper is complemented by custom co-branded footbeds and Hockey-specific artwork.

Offered in two custom colorways, the Vans AVE Classic by Hockey balances restraint with an aggressive edge. Built to be skated hard, the shoe is designed to wear in and develop its own character over time.
