PUMA introduces its first collaboration with London-based designer Priya Ahluwalia, reimagining the iconic Suede through her distinctive design language.

The partnership began in September 2024, when Ahluwalia made a celebrated return to the international spotlight, and deepened during London Fashion Week, where she showcased PUMA’s Speedcat on the runway.

Inspired by photography and narratives of sport in the Global South, Priya Ahluwalia designed a sneaker defined by dynamic lines and a subtly shimmering ombré metallic midsole.

A monochrome black-and-silver palette gives the silhouette a universal appeal, while TPU Formstrip and mudguard overlays lend a modern, functional edge.

Co-branding appears on the tongue and Suede tab, and the collaboration comes in custom packaging. A Friends-and-Family edition is also available in an all-white execution.

“The Suede has meant so much to so many cultures over the decades, from Hip-Hop to skateboarding to streetwear. For my first trainer collaboration, I wanted to honour that history while infusing it with Ahluwalia’s design language, exploring texture, function, and detail in a way that feels both familiar and completely new,” warsays Creative Director, Priya Ahluwalia.

‍

‍

Accompanying the collaboration is a focus on celebrating the “silver linings” of everyday life — those small moments of light inspired by real people and their stories.

‍

‍

As part of the partnership, PUMA and Ahluwalia have launched a mentorship program to support emerging creatives aged 18 to 25 — from filmmakers and fashion designers to multidisciplinary storytellers.

The initiative offers participants access to industry experts, professional insights, and increased visibility within the creative sector.
