PUMA is celebrating the return of the incomparable Mostro. Originally introduced in 1999, the Mostro derives its name from the Italian word for monster, which goes with its experimental and unusual look.
‍
‍
A hybrid creation from two different worlds — the sleek yet robust sprint spikes from the 1960s and the relaxed surf shoes of the 1980s.
‍
‍
The Mostro is an iconic and convention-breaking model from the PUMA archive. The flat cut silhouette features distinctive features such as its characteristic spiked sole and Velcro strap.
‍
‍
Offering maximum flexibility and comfort, the Mostro is a completely unique design for both monsters and humans.
‍
‍
The new edition of the Mostro is made from a mesh outer material, which is covered by the PUMA Formstrip in metallic silver. It comes with an elastic Velcro strap and Lycra lining.
Captured in New York City through the lens of photographer Chris Maggio, the campaign shows the mostro in the everyday lives of several unique city dwellers. After 25 years of cryogenic sleep, the PUMA Mostro is finally on the verge of its long-awaited comeback.
‍
‍
Together with the Mostro, a group of thawed beings are joined, who embody the roles of two iconic NYC characters — the Generation Z tastemaker and the tourist.
‍
‍
Groundbreaking in 1999 and now a work of art, the Mostro walks the fine line between sport and style, and now it's back.
On January 13th, the Puma Mostro will be available in light grey and yellow at VOOstore be available.
