The epitome of a classic running shoe: The PUMA Easy Rider from 1977 returns this year.
‍
‍
The Easy Rider is a silhouette that revolutionized the jogging hype of the 1970s. When it started selling almost half a century ago, it offered several top-level running innovations.
‍
‍
PUMA now has the Easy Rider in the pipeline with a new premium version in the colors “Glacial Gray” and “Dewdrop”.
The Easy Rider Vintage is a newly redesigned retro running shoe that remains true to the original and creates a connection between generations through its iconic design.
‍
‍
The accompanying campaign celebrates the importance of family ties in their many forms. The campaign's intimate motifs, which consist of various family portraits, explore the meaning of family and childhood.
Indulging in the peace of everyday moments, the locations and the styling of the pictures give unexpected and unique twists.
‍
‍
The first part of the campaign is an homage to the family home and tells a story about heirlooms. Further campaigns from PUMA and the Easy Rider series will follow in 2024.
Designed for cross-country and road running, the Easy Rider had a padded nylon upper and suede reinforcements on the toes and heel.
‍
‍
The shoe's main feature, both stylistically and functionally, was its strut outsole, which used shock-absorbing rubber studs for cushioning.
‍
‍
The silhouette inspired an entire collection known as “The Great Cat Family,” including sibling models such as the Joy Rider, who Sky Rider and the Lite Rider.
‍
‍
The first drop of the PUMA Easy Rider Vintage in “Glacial Gray” is already available in limited quantities at selected retailers such as HHV available.
The second color variant will be released later this year. We'll keep you up to date, keep our Sneaker Releases in the eye.
