Tomorrow we can look forward to a Nike Air Force, the cult film in the 1990s Friday It was seen at the feet of Ice Cube. The color scheme was last launched 5 years ago and sold out very quickly back then.
“Friday” is a 1995 American comedy film written by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh and directed by F. Gary Gray.
The film is mostly set in a suburb of Los Angeles and tells the story of a day in the life of Craig Jones (played by Ice Cube) and his best friend Smokey (played by Chris Tucker).
The plot primarily revolves around Craig and Smokey, who spend the majority of their Friday sitting on the porch of Craig's house watching what's happening in their neighborhood.
During the day, they get into various strange and dangerous situations. A central element of the plot is that Smokey has to get money for a drug dealer, which he and Craig have instead used for himself.
Friday was never a favorite of film critics but has a big fan following and became a kind of trilogy with Next Friday (2000) and Friday After Next (2002). Even an animated series was created by MTV2 in 2007.
Mike Epps, who played the role of Day-Day Jones in parts 2 and 3, recently posted on Instagram that he would very much like to bring all the characters together again for a fourth part.
So far, however, all attempts in the direction of Warner Bros. have been blocked, as Ice Cube revealed in an interview. But who knows, maybe that will happen at some point.
The film Friday had also had a big influence on pop and meme culture itself. A striking example is here “Bye Felicia”. A quote from Ice Cube which only became very popular many years later and developed into an Internet meme.
In the movie, Ice Cube uses this phrase to dismiss Angela Means, who played the said Felicia. “Bye Felicia” Today, formulates a briefly expressed indifferent or disparaging attitude towards someone who is regarded as unimportant or disruptive.
The phrase has spread far beyond its original context in film and was used very frequently, at least for a while.
To get you in the mood, we have linked the soundtrack from the first part to you at the end of the article.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Retro QS “Friday” will be released tomorrow at 43 and a half, AFEW Store and Asphaltgold.
