New Balance continues its exploration of early 2000s aesthetics and technology with the ABZORB 2000 — a silhouette that blends progressive design, minimalist upper elements, and striking futuristic details.

At the core is the intricately engineered ABZORB sole unit, developed using 3D tools to achieve organic curves and forms — resulting in a dynamic, almost sculptural design language.

The visible cushioning system fuses classic ABZORB technology with strategically placed ABZORB SBS pods along the full length of the sole — a nod to early 2000s running icons, reimagined through a modern lens.

“The real challenge in designing the ABZORB 2000 was finding the right balance between heritage and modernity,” said Charlotte Lee, Design Manager.

“We wanted to amplify those iconic design cues, like the ABZORB SBS gel cushioning, but rework them through a contemporary lens. It’s that tension between the past and the present that really drives our design philosophy.”

The ABZORB 2000 features a breathable mesh upper with graphic print overlays and a printed “N” logo that integrates seamlessly into the minimalist design.

Reflective details add subtle accents, while the segmented outsole with an integrated Stability Web and sculpted midsole elements enhances both visual depth and stability.
