BIRKENSTOCK and MAHARISHI unite design and functionality with the Mogami Terra Tech

BIRKENSTOCK and MAHARISHI are presenting a new collection that focuses on the interplay of nature and technology.

At the heart of the collaboration is the Mogami Terra Tech — an ergonomic evolution of an archival BIRKENSTOCK model that merges MAHARISHI’s utilitarian aesthetic with traditional craftsmanship. Its military-inspired construction is reimagined with a contemporary lens.

The Mogami was introduced in 2024 as part of the BIRKENSTOCK Active Range — developed for any terrain, with an anatomical footbed that supports natural walking.

With the Mogami Terra Tech, outdoor performance meets functional design: biological and technical materials merge in camouflage tones inspired by soil, clay, and dense vegetation.

The two straps are crafted from suede and nylon webbing, accented with quick-release buckles. A grippy polyurethane sole transforms the classic BIRKENSTOCK footbed into a waterproof version.

A new feature is inspired by the M.A.L.I.C.E. system — a U.S. military innovation from the 1960s that MAHARISHI also incorporates into its own accessories. A removable crossbody strap with dual carabiners allows the sandals to be carried hands-free when walking barefoot.

The model is complemented by split-toe Tabi socks for added balance and cross-climate versatility. The Mogami Terra Tech is available individually or as a complete set with all accessories.

Fittingly, the BIRKENSTOCK MAHARISHI M.A.L.I.C.E. backpack is offered in olive and black — featuring 3D external pockets, hidden side compartments, 50% expandable storage, a padded laptop sleeve, and quick-release buckles.

The campaign by photographer Tyrone Lebon shows the Mogami in contrast between the peace of Costa Rica and the urban energy of London — as a functional link between outdoor and city.
