With the GEL-FLEXKEE 958, ASICS presents the first eagerly awaited joint project with OTTO958, the amorphous project between avant-garde fashion house Kiko Kostadinov and the Morán Morán International Art Gallery.
With the GEL-FLEXKEE 958, the brand is reinterpreting the silhouette developed by analyzing the movements of athletes during skateboarding competitions at the ASICS Sports Engineering Laboratory.
It is characterized by its high functionality, in particular by the sole, which has a separate forefoot area.
The outer material of the GEL-FLEXKEE 958 consists of an asymmetrical lacing system, a fully synthetic leather construction and a quilted toe box.
The tongue has an enlarged flap that covers the laces and highlights the characteristic “O” logo of OTTO958 with raised embroidery and an additional logo on the heel.
The shoe is initially available in two colors: Gunmetal/Black and Hunter Green/Black. A third color variant is due to be released later in the year.
The GEL-FLEXKEE 958 was put to the test for the campaign, which was filmed in Athens, Ohio, in the summer of 2023. It was filmed on the estate of Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin in the Midwest of the USA. The resulting images are brought to life in a six-minute film set in and around the estate's 1.2 million gallon Lazy River.
The ASICS x OTTO958 Gunmetal/Black and Hunter Green/Black will be available from September 14th at AFEW Store, Asphaltgold and VooStore.
