In 2021, adidas SPZL and C.P. Company teamed up to mark the 50th anniversary of the celebrated Italian brand and unveiled the Italia CP SPZL sneaker.
Since then, the collaborative shoe has become one of the most desirable silhouettes in culture. Now, adidas SPZL and C.P. Company has returned with a complete apparel, footwear, and accessories collection – this time honouring the label’s 10th anniversary.
The shoe range includes six unique adidas SPZL silhouettes, which have been reinterpreted from C.P. Company's point of view.
The CP Wimberly SPZL is inspired by a rare perforated Canadian version of the adidas Universal from the 80s and is available in two different materials.
The first version uses shades of white and cream in a color palette similar to the vintage Universal and updates it with modern and high-quality materials.
The leather upper features 3 strips of webbing with zigzag stitching, serrated eyelet strips and a perforated toe cap. The second version has an outer material that is made entirely of suede.
Next up, inspired by adidas Nepal, a high-cut outdoor boat, the CP Helvellyn SPZL is a winter-ready silhouette in a timeless sand and gray color, consisting of suede overlays, mesh lining, gunmetal D-rings, with a folded tongue and outdoor leather lining.
The CP SL 83 SPZL, meanwhile, is an extension of the design language of the adidas SL 82 with an added T-toe and a mix of different materials to create slightly different shades of olive green on the upper.
Last but not least, two SPZL icons are returning. With the CP Manchester SPZL, one of the most coveted silhouettes in the brand's history is being reissued for the anniversary and reinterpreted by C.P. Company, with updated premium materials, additional eyelets and zigzag stitching on the stripes.
At the same time, the collaborative CP Italia SPZL is brought back in a premium leather makeup with a suede T-toe and a Royal Blue/White colourway as a nod to the previous collaboration.
In a distinctive reworking of classic looks that combines both the legendary Italian label and Gary Aspden's ongoing homage to the Three Stripes archive, iconic garments from the entire history of both brands are redesigned and interpreted in an authentic cultural exchange.
The clothing playfully integrates SPZL's design language with the graphic iconography of C.P. Company. Namely the sailor from C.P. Company and the graphic placements on the Mille Miglia jackets from the 1980s.
The collection includes a sweatshirt featuring the legendary C.P. Company sailor dressed from head to toe in an adidas SPZL outfit,
as well as a short-sleeved and
a long-sleeved t-shirt with pockets, each reminiscent of the graphics of C.P. Company's early Mille Miglia jackets.
Other items of clothing include a T-Shirt with a common logo and a half-zip knit sweater that picks up the first Mod-Trefoil garment from the very first SPZL season in 2014.
A matching training top and training pants are made from fine knit and upgrade the Settend 2 tracksuit, which was launched by adidas SPZL in 2015.
The highlight of the clothing collection are two jackets: the CP SPZL Puffer Jacket (see above) and the CP SPZL Flying Jacket. Both pieces are the result of the highest Italian craftsmanship and feature removable branding options.
Crafted from flat nylon, an opaque nylon with a light resin finish on the reverse, each jacket features front pockets, embroidered logo patches on the chest, and the iconic C.P. Company lens on the left wrist, custom-designed for this collaboration.
The Flying Jacket is inspired by classic aviation styles, which is underlined by a fleece-lined collar that offers both comfort and a nod to vintage flight jackets.
The collection is rounded off by a range of accessories, which include a shoulder bag,
two caps and
includes a pair of gloves.
To celebrate the launch of the collection in an authentic way, an ensemble cast of long-standing confidants from the two labels was put together for a campaign based on shared experience, talent and genuine friendship.
With Ashley Walters, Stephen Graham, Goldie, Robert Brooks and Toby Mclellan, the film narrative drifts between documentary and theatrical performance — and interweaves a story of camaraderie and joy of life. It is directed by &SON, while the camera work was done by renowned music photographer Kevin Cummins.
The latest collection from adidas SPZL x C.P. Company is available in limited quantities from November 12 and can be purchased through selected retailers such as 43einhalb, AFEW-Store, Asphaltgold, HHV and SUPPA.
