Following the presentation of the new adidas Originals brand strategy “We Gave the World an Original, You Gave us a Thousand Back” in 2023, the Trefoil returns to the iconic SL 72 silhouette this summer with a new campaign.
First introduced in summer 1972, the SL 72 represents a paradigm shift in the running shoe sector. Today, more than half a century later, the iconic silhouette has established itself in the cultural scene and is worn as a timeless street style classic away from running.
This season, adidas Originals is launching two different versions of the SL series: the SL 72 RS and the SL 72 OG in white, red, black, blue and yellow.
As part of its own campaign, adidas Originals is celebrating the return of the SL 72, captured by French photographer Kenny Germé.
The campaign focuses on various talents from the world of sports and the cultural scene: musician Melissa Bon, model Sabrina Lan, French soccer player Jules Koundé and rapper A$AP Nast.
With a bouquet of flowers for each original, the summer of sport becomes the summer of SL 72. The latest interpretation of the adidas Originals “1000 Back” campaign starts today, July 15.
The latest colorways of the adidas Originals SL 72 are available at 43einhalb, AFEW Store, Asphaltgold, HHV and SUPPA.
