The VEJA volley was inspired by the Brazilian volleyball shoes of the 70s. In 2005, VEJA presented the volley at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and directly sold 5,000 pairs.
Since then, VEJA has added more models and sold over 14 million pairs worldwide.
The outer material and laces of the volley are made from 100% organic cotton, the outsole is made from 40% natural rubber from the Amazon region, and the shoes are made in Brazil.
The two VEJA founders, Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion, had no experience in the shoe industry.
They succeeded without investing in advertising by focusing on deconstruction and investing in a fair supply chain.
They invested in another way of making sneakers that has positive effects.
This season, nine new icon style volley colors have now been designed, which are available from today at 43einhalb, AFEW Store, Allike, Asphaltgold, HHV and SUPPA.
