‍Asphaltgold is breaking new ground: With the launch of the Bad Habits Run Club collection, founder and CEO Daniel Benz and his team are introducing their first-ever performance running line.

Starting August 7, the collection will be available exclusively at Asphaltgold stores in Darmstadt and Frankfurt.

‍

‍

What began with Asphaltgold’s participation in the Darmstadt City Run back in 2009 — just one year after the brand was founded — has since grown into something much bigger.

In January 2024, what started as an internal running group for friends, customers, and local running enthusiasts officially became part of the brand: the Bad Habits Run Club.

‍

‍

The name “Bad Habits” is meant playfully: Long before the club was officially founded, the fastest runners at Asphaltgold’s early events were rewarded with a pizza-and-beer subscription to “da Franco.”

Pizza, beer, and running? It was exactly this contrast that shaped the community’s DNA.

‍

‍

Today, Bad Habits hosts regular community runs in Darmstadt and Frankfurt, connects with runners through Instagram and Strava, and creates meaningful encounters both online and offline.

True to the motto “Bad Habits. Good Intentions.”, beginners and seasoned athletes alike come together in groups tailored to different performance levels.

‍

‍

The collection blends functionality with a clean, minimalist design — neutral tones provide the backdrop for the bold Bad Habits logo.

It includes two long-sleeves and two T-shirts, each available in black and white, along with three pairs of performance socks in signature Bad Habits colors: black, white, and pink.

‍

The 2-in-1 running shorts, equipped with functional features, serve as the standout piece of the collection. Rounding out the line is a custom Nalgene water bottle — practical, lightweight, and ready to go wherever you are.

‍

‍

Since the early days of Bad Habits, exclusive pieces have been released in limited quantities — sometimes in collaboration with partner brands.

As the community continued to grow, so did the demand for more product. This new collection is Asphaltgold’s response.

‍

‍

Running has always played a key role in shaping sneaker culture — and with Bad Habits, Asphaltgold builds a bridge between athletic heritage and contemporary spirit.

In collaboration with brands like adidas and New Balance, the first year of the Run Club has already seen the launch of numerous initiatives and events, including Cheering Zones at the Frankfurt Marathon, a dedicated NYC Marathon documentary, and ongoing participation in the Darmstadt City Run.

‍

‍

‍

The release of the first Bad Habits collection will be celebrated on August 7, starting at 7:00 PM, with a community run at the Asphaltgold store in Frankfurt — complete with pizza, drinks, and music for all participants.

The collection will also be available online at asphaltgold.com.

By the way: The next big collaboration is already on the horizon — the Asphaltgold x Salomon collab is coming soon.
