Parra gives Vans’ iconic Old Skool 36 a vivid reinterpretation. His connection to Vans dates back to the early 1990s, when he was a sponsored skater, long before his surreal artworks found their way into galleries and museum collections worldwide.

Now the OTW by Vans x Parra Old Skool 36 brings the story full circle: a classic silhouette reworked through Parra’s signature lens, combining art and skate DNA with multi-layered materials and premium craftsmanship.

The design pairs soft suede with Parra’s signature wavy colorblocking and asymmetric details, resulting in a deliberately minimal, polished look. Playful typography appears on custom tongue labels and mismatched footbeds, alongside the reminder: “Don’t forget to skate in these.”

Sola Foam ADC insoles deliver comfort, paired with a vulcanized sole and Vans’ signature waffle outsole. Matte foxing and custom heel patches complete the silhouette. A meeting point of art, skate culture, and timeless design.

Parra rounds out the collab with a self-produced video that extends his surreal aesthetic, offers a closer look at his creative process, and brings the collection’s story to life.

The OTW by Vans x Parra Old Skool 36 releases today, January 22, and will be available at the following retailers: AFEW, Asphaltgold and BSTN.
