As part of a series celebrating its 10th anniversary, Sneakers76 is releasing a Shadow 5000 collaboration with Saucony. The Italian store had already brought other well-known brands on board for the anniversary project.
The Sneakers76 x Saucony Shadow 5000 “The Legend of God Taras” also draws inspiration from the mythology of the store’s home region.
Sneakers76 celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2016 and really went all out for the occasion. It all started with the adidas Consortium x Sneakers76 EQT Guidance 93 “The Bridge of the Two Seas,” followed by the “Legend of the Dolphin” Blaze of Glory in collaboration with Puma.
Both collaborations are inspired by the legends surrounding the Gulf of Taranto. In this legendary region, it is said that the city of the same name—home to Sneakers76—was founded by Taras, a son of Poseidon.
The Sneakers76 x Saucony Shadow 5000 "The Legend of God Taras" also centers on the son of the Lord of the Seas. The collaboration incorporates the colors of the city’s coat of arms: red on the toe box, blue on the heel.
A light gray adorns the side. A trident—the symbol of Poseidon—is embossed on the leather label on the tongue of the Saucony Shadow 5000 by Sneakers76.
Along with the three other models in the series, the Sneakers76 x Saucony Shadow 5000 “The Legend of God Taras” tells the entire legend surrounding the city’s divine founding. An extraordinary concept and certainly a real draw for collectors.
In Germany, the model was released on January 19, 2017. It is now only available on the secondary sneaker market, such as KLEKT or eBay.
