An homage to craftsmanship, taste, and identity
Founded in 1791 by the Benedictine monastery of St. Blasien at the inn “Zum Rothen Haus” — first documented in 1681 — today’s Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus laid the foundation for its long brewing tradition in the Black Forest.
Nestled in the dense forests around Lake Schluchsee, Rothaus has since grown into one of Germany’s most renowned breweries — celebrated for its quality, character, and a brand identity that remains unmistakably tied to its origins.

What once began deep in the forest has become a symbol of brewing tradition with character — independent, regionally rooted, and with a design as unmistakable as its taste.
With this collaboration, PUMA and Rothaus bring together two worlds that may not seem to belong at first glance — yet demonstrate how powerfully regional identity, design, and storytelling can merge.

The PUMA x Rothaus “Tannenzäpfle” translates the character of the Black Forest cult beer into an iconic sneaker design — reinterpreted through a classic PUMA silhouette.
The upper combines brown mesh with a textured pinecone finish and premium suede overlays in deep bottle-glass brown. A green Formstrip adds a striking contrast, evoking the forest backdrop surrounding the Rothaus brewery.

The tongue is a true highlight, echoing the color scheme of the iconic Tannenzäpfle label in pink with applied stripes in purple and blue.
The right tongue features a woven patch with the signature pine cones from the bottle label, while the left showcases “Biergit” — the friendly face of Tannenzäpfle that has represented Black Forest brewing for generations. Both designs are topped with PUMA lettering in Rothaus’ distinctive typography.

The insole takes its inspiration from a limited “party box” edition of Tannenzäpfle, carrying the colorful label design into the inside of the shoe.
Another nod for true connoisseurs comes in the form of shiny golden lace tips with a textured pinecone embossing. The standout detail, however, sits at the heel: just like the original beer bottle, the famous golden foil is applied here.

The model comes in a special-edition box designed like a Rothaus beer crate — complete with logo, typography, and a nostalgic retro look.
A true collector’s item that unites brewing tradition and sneaker design with a playful wink.

The PUMA Indoor is a classic hall shoe with deep sporting roots — its flat silhouette, signature gum sole, and minimalist design still make it a prime example of terrace culture today.

In the 70s and 80s, the Indoor — like many PUMA models of that era — was embraced by British football fans and became a style-defining staple on the terraces, blending casual fashion, subculture, and sporting spirit.
Today, the model returns as a minimalist lifestyle piece with archival character — authentic, laid-back, and full of retro attitude.
