Following collaborations such as that of adidas x Gucci and adidas x Prada, another big “High Fashion x Sportswear Collab” was announced on May 16, 2022:
French brand Jacquemus will be presenting the results of its three-year collaboration with Nike today in Marseille as part of the new “Le Papier” collection. Sensuality meets sportiness.
“If I do a collaboration one day, it will be with Nike.” Jacquemus founder Simon Porte Jacquemus said this in an interview with Vogue and pointed out that sportswear has always been in the DNA of his brand.
After making initial contact with Nike in 2018, it was decided relatively quickly to work together and Jacquemus traveled to America to implement his ideas.
He decided to adopt the nineties aesthetic and create looks that are reminiscent of Lady Di's style and the sport of tennis. A campaign video was also released in line with this,
Which gave the first clues to the pieces and shows a sandy spot that is reminiscent of a tennis court.
The collection is moving away from the luxury segment and should be accessible to everyone.
There will be 15 pieces and the sneak peaks will show how simple and minimalistic the collection will be. Some of the models already shown so far are reminiscent of the Nike Considered collection from 2005.
Mesh fabrics meet mini swooshes in gold and the fashion industry can hardly wait.
Unisex are a highlight Nike Air Humara in two colorways. They will be Jacquemus's first sneakers. The designer himself is a big fan of Nike's ACG line and has revived the sturdy hiking-style shoe from the archives.
Originally designed as a trail running shoe in 1997, the Nike Air Humara quickly became an ACG classic.
The Jacquemus x Nike sneaker comes in a dark brown with beige details and a lighter version with white accents. Jacquemus omits the otherwise typical contrasting seams on the model and reduces the Humara's complex lacing system to an ankle strap.
The outsole of the sneakers is made of rubber and has a classic, robust look.
The outer material of the shoes is made of smooth and suede and on the sides are the golden mini swooshes, which can also be seen at the ends of the laces.
The Jacquemus branding can be seen on the tongue, heel, inner and outsole. The sneakers are delivered in a special box, which illustrates the collaboration.
Additional details include the striped bands, which are contrasted with the color pink in the brown colorway and with the color white in the beige colorway.
The shoes will appear on Jacquemus' website on June 28 and on July 7 at VooStore. You can also find updates on this in our Sneaker release calendar.
