Why stop when it's good? HOKA and Nicole McLaughlin, the New York concept designer and digital creator, present the second edition of the HOKA Mafate THREE2. The new generation of outdoor shoes will be launched on June 14, 2024.
The designer from Boulder, Colorado is known for her sustainable and ironic approach to reusing materials. She has transferred this unmistakable style to HOKA's Mafate series and introduced new elements that make trail enthusiasts looking for functionality in particular happy.

The second-generation HOKA x Nicole McLaughlin Mafate THREE2 in white/neon yellow impresses with a four-in-one gaiter system covering the shoe, which consists of a woven ETPU base material and ensures durability and performance in all conditions.
‍
‍
Complemented by woven co-branded labels on the gaiter and midsole, this innovative cover is dirt and water repellent, making it ideal for rugged trail adventures.
‍
‍
In addition, each shoe is equipped with five handy pockets that provide plenty of storage space for every trip — a characteristic component of McLaughlin's designs.

‍
The cinch opening at the entrance and the Velcro strap on the heel increase the versatility and functionality of the shoe and ensure a secure fit and support on different terrains.

‍
"We are excited for the community to see what Nicole McLaughlin has brought to the second iteration of the Mafate", says Travis Wiseman, Director of Lifestyle Product at HOKA.
"Nicole's creative approach to fashion has allowed us to push boundaries further and create a truly unique product that resonates with our community while holding to our commitment of performance and functionality."
‍
‍
Nicole McLaughlin said, "I am so excited to be collaborating with Hoka on our second Mafate THREE2, with a vibrant reversed colorway of our first drop. It includes a multi-functional four-in-one gaiter design and of course, it wouldn’t be an NM project without plenty of pockets!"
‍
‍
The creative campaign for this collaboration was inspired by birdwatching in New York City, a hobby Nicole took up during the COVID pandemic. Nicole is seen birdwatching in Prospect Park, photographed by David Brandon Greeting and styled by Gramparents.
‍
‍
To support New York City's local birdlife, Nicole and HOKA will make a donation to NYC Audubon, soon NYC Bird Alliance.
