More drive for even more speed - HOKA presents the Cielo X1, a carbon running shoe with maximum energy return. When developing the latest addition to the brand's range of road running shoes, the focus is on speed.
The Cielo X1 was developed with the insights and feedback of HOKA elite athletes, it is the ultimate competition shoe for the road, for demanding athletes.
The Cielo X1 is equipped with the latest technologies. It combines advanced geometry, carbon plate technology and foam blends while dispensing with anything that doesn't improve running comfort and speed.
‍
‍
These innovations include a new geometric outsole structure, an asymmetrical Active Foot Frame, a dynamic winged carbon fiber plate and an aggressively cored midsole, which together create a lightweight, fast, dynamic and stable running experience.
The Cielo X1 midsole provides an incomparable running experience: The outsole, the MetaRocker, was developed to move the foot forward as you step, while the improved carbon fiber plate captures the foot at higher speeds thanks to asymmetrical wings and the resulting curved shape.

With the ProFlyX midsole construction, the carbon sheet is embedded between two layers of responsive PEBA foam, ensuring maximum energy return.
The softer layer directly under the foot provides comfort, while the firmer bottom layer is a source of elastic power, with the geometries consistently geared towards speed.
Weight-saving rubber reinforcements (Durabrasion Rubber) in areas with high traction of the outsole ensure maximum durability and control.

A completely new knitted outer material ensures a lightweight, breathable, foot-hugging fit, while the asymmetrical, gusset knit allows easy entry and race-ready support.
With a weight of 210 g for women's size 8 and 264 g for men size 10, a standing height of 40 mm at the heel and 30 mm at the forefoot, the Cielo X1 is approved by World Athletics.

Race fast fearlessly
“The Cielo X1 was developed with a focus on its dynamic midsole system. The new innovative carbon plate shape, together with the MetaRocker, drive a step forward. We're bringing even more speed to the competition,” says Colin Ingram, Vice President of Product and Apparel at HOKA.
“Our team tested the Cielo X1 together with our HOKA athletes to develop a top-class product for competition that we believe is predestined for podium finishes and personal records. We can't wait to get the Cielo X1 on the road so everyone can try it out.”
The Cielo X1 was tested by HOKA elite athletes and achieved impressive results across a wide range of road distances. It is expected that he will also prevail in future races.
Notable results include HOKA Northern Arizona Elite (NAZ) member Wesley Kiptoo, who made his marathon distance debut at the Chicago Marathon and crossed the finish line in 2:10:28. HOKA NAZ elite member Kellyn Taylor won the Rock 'n' Roll San Jose Half Marathon and thus qualified for the 2024 US Olympics Marathon Trials in 1:11:40, teammate Alice Wright was third.

The launch of the Cielo X1 is part of the HOKA FlyLab campaign, featuring a series of digital films and interactive actions that celebrate the brand's innovation and unconventional approach to “helping athletes fly” (Fly Human Fly).
The films with HOKA NAZ elite athletes Futsum Zienasellassie and Kellyn Taylor show the boot on race day as a powerhouse for energy and speed and the opportunities it offers runners.
