Dr. Martens and the industrial rock band NINE INCH NAILS present a collab collection: The Downward Spiral.
The Downward Spiral is the second studio album by Nine Inch Nails, which was released in 1994. It is a concept album about a man's descent into self-destruction and covers topics such as depression, addiction, and suicide.

ā
The album combines industrial rock with alternative and electronic music and features innovative production by Trent Reznor and Flood. The most famous tracks are āCloserā, āHurtā and āMarch of the Pigsā. The album was highly praised by critics, was commercially successful and is considered a milestone in industrial rock.

ā
Intense and haunting. Cruel and cross-border. A deeply personal musical statement that appeals to millions of listeners. An athartic exploration of the inevitable emptiness that results from self-destructive behavior.
ā
ā
Only a few artists can claim to have created something born of despair that is so well received by the audience.
This celebrated musical monolith is celebrated with a unique Dr. Martens collection. An homage to the darkness that creates light, with some of Doc's hardest silhouettes.

āThis collaboration just makes so much sense. Not just because of the countless fans Iāve seen wearing Dr. Martens at NIN concerts over the years (myself included), but because NIN and Dr. Martens are both known for rejecting convention and expectation in favour of innovation, with their distinctive ability to transcend genres and styles in a way that unique to each person who experiences them. The goal was always to make this collection feel as authentically Nine Inch Nails as possible, and I believe through close collaboration with the team at Docās weāve succeeded in that.ā

The 1460s boot was distorted with the album cover Wound decorated by Russell Mills. The 8-eyelet boot comes with multiple lacing options, including a branded ankle zipper and a removable jungle zip front zipper.
A rubber edge and a toe cap for industrial aesthetics rest on a backhand and smooth leather upper. Including a robust Commando tread sole with black stitching. Finished with an AirWair heel strap and references to NIN and the Downward Spiral album all over the shoe.

The 1461 3-eye shoe has a NIN-embossed leather-like rubber toe cap that contrasts with DM's classic black smooth and upper leather that is otherwise used for the upper material.
He wode with the iconic Crystal Teeth Artwork from the album decorated with a subtle glossy print The Downward Spiral provided. It comes with a black BEN outsole with the traditional yellow Docs stitching.

The 1490 is Doc's 10-eye boat considered a tribute to NIN's wild and unbridled live performances, a special print was designed, inspired by the band's pre-performance ritual of covering themselves with cornstarch to create an aesthetic of rotting and post-apocalyptic.
It is made from textured black and white backhand leather. It comes with an ankle zipper that snakes across the inner ankle, an Ice Commando outsole and double black and white stitching.
ā
ā
Last but not least, a particularly exclusive special edition of the 1490 boot was created, which is made of black leather and features the cover of the album Downward Spiral is embossed. It will not be available for sale, but some of the band's most loyal fans will receive a pair as a gift. An homage to the unique connection between the band and those who have supported them for decades.
