Converse has teamed up with French designer Isabel Marant for the first time to create a collection that combines both new and classic styles. This collection combines Marant's characteristic Parisian aesthetic, known for its mix of elegance and nonchalance.
The collection reflects Marant's unique style, which emphasizes spontaneity, independence and natural, effortless elegance. Like Converse, Isabel Marant stands for unconventionality and creative freedom, which is clearly evident in the designs of the collection.
At the heart of the collaboration is the new Chuck 70 Wedge, a modern take on the classic Chuck 70 with a hidden 6.3 cm heel, which picks up on Isabel Marant's preference for sneaker wedges from the 2010s.
There are also new versions of the Chuck 70 in high and low top variants, which feature Marant's typical design elements such as fringed jacquard uppers, colorful pinstripes and a see-through sole.
Marant explained that the idea of reinterpreting a Converse wedge is rooted back in her childhood when she put pieces of cork in her sneakers as a young girl — back then it was Chuck Taylors.
This nostalgia is also reflected in the latest collection, which both preserves the classic elements of Chuck Taylor and incorporates Marant's modern design.
The collection will be available exclusively at the Isabel Marant Turenne Paris pop-up store on September 11 and at selected Converse retailers from September 12. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Releases.
In addition, the collaboration marks the start of a new series of Converse models with hidden paragraphs, which will be launched worldwide in October.
