Axel Arigato presents Squish, an entirely new unisex silhouette for Spring/Summer 2026. The sneaker moves away from the sharp, architectural lines of previous models and embraces soft, rounded curves instead.
The design language leans more into playfulness than precision. Its proportions appear almost like a stylized sketch, where familiar sneaker codes are exaggerated, twisted and reinterpreted with a distinctly light-hearted attitude.

Inspired by skate parks and modern sculpture, Squish takes a playful approach.
The sole curves in every direction, concave and convex and never straight, while offset lines create a sense of movement and organic irregularity.

The proportions are deliberately exaggerated. The large toe box rises noticeably upward, while an oversized woven label replaces the usual leather tab and gives the model a relaxed and intentionally casual character.

Handmade in Portugal, Squish combines a premium nubuck and suede upper with two-tone TPR outsoles. Wool laces add a tactile touch to the design, and the sole appears to envelop the upper in a smooth, flowing form.
The distinctive toe construction, inspired by sculptural design and modeled design processes, gives the sneaker its unmistakable identity and highlights it as a three-dimensional object that goes far beyond a classic everyday style.

As part of the Green Space Collection for SS26, which explores how natural spaces are designed and shaped within urban environments, Squish reflects this dialogue through its sculptural lines and artisanal details.

Creative Director Jens Werner describes the approach as follows:
“I wanted Squish to feel like a form in motion – inspired by the playfulness of literally squishing the upper into the sole, almost like a baking mold. The sound of things squishing together was present in my mind, and the sneaker became a visual and physical manifestation of that concept.”

The first drop arrives in five expressive colorways for both men and women: Light Beige, Black, Lilac, Tan and Bright Yellow. A men’s-only tonal pack follows shortly after, featuring Light Taupe and Black / Off-Black.

With Squish, Axel Arigato takes the familiar codes of a sneaker and transforms them through a playful sense of distortion. The result is a silhouette that brings together skate culture, modern sculpture and an unmistakable spirit of experimentation.

More than just a style, it is a feeling that is easy, oversized and slightly rebellious. Sophisticated, simple and still distinctive. Each step carries the carefree energy of a day outdoors, moving between park, concrete and city streets.
Squish is available from November 28 in selected stores such as Asphaltgold and BSTN.
