ASICS and Wood Wood have come together for the first time since 2017 to work together on a sneaker collaboration: The GT-2160
‍
‍
The sneaker is showcased in their joint campaign that celebrates body and movement. The model was first unveiled at Wood Wood's AW24 show during Copenhagen Fashion Week in January.
‍
‍
The campaign, shot by Danish photographer Philip Messman, celebrates body and movement and features a range of ballet dancers and trampoline jumpers.
‍
‍
It combines the ASICS brand message of stimulating the mind through movement with the visualization of the contemporary lifestyle and aesthetics of the Wood Wood universe. This poetic series of images playfully portrays the sneakers in a new context, outside the world of fashion or sport, and embodies feelings of calm and intensity in equal measure.

‍
“I see this as a continuation of the collaboration from 2017. Back then we did 2 colourways of the DS-Trainer, which were loosely inspired bythe aesthetics of late 90s media players and vintage Dieter Rams designed electronics respectively.” - Brian SS Jensen, Founder Wood Wood
‍
‍
For this collaboration sneaker, the two color variants, which were already used during the 2017 collaboration, were reinterpreted and merged into one: Different shades of gray are subtly contrasted by small splashes of color.
Other details of the GT-2160 include a segmented midsole structure and GEL technology inserts. The updated cushioning elements give the shoe an industrial aesthetic.
‍
‍
“I believe the original GT-2160 came out around 2010, to me this model still feels very fresh. I am a big fan of ASICS running shoes – especially from around this time, and was immediately drawn to the GT-2160 when I first saw the sample. I find it interesting that although many of the designs from this era are actually kind of hard to distinguish from each other, they all have this very distinct aesthetic that is unique to ASICS.” - Brian SS Jensen, founder of Wood Wood
‍
‍
The global release date is March 22. The ASICS SportStyle x Wood Wood GT-2160 sneaker will be available via 43einhalb, AFEW Store, Allike, Asphaltgold, HHV and SUPPA.
