This season, adidas Spezial is back with its '22 summer collection.
Following a brief collaboration with Liam Gallagher and the adidas LG 2 SPZL late last month, we can now look forward to a carefully curated collection that bridges the past and present with a range of timeless styles.
The latest adidas SPZL collection is tailored to a discerning audience and blends the aesthetics of the 1970s with functional elements and subtly incorporated military details.
The collection’s footwear lineup consists of five unique silhouettes. The Adilette SPZL marks the return of the popular slide sandal in a cream-colored version featuring a black, embossed Mod Trefoil and SPEZIAL branding.
The ZX 620 SPZL pays homage to adidas’s famous ZX series, with specific references to the ZX 600, ZX 555, and a range of mid-1980s running shoes.
The synthetic suede upper with mesh panels sits on an EVA midsole and a rubber outsole, while perforations in the toe and heel areas with reflective accents round out the look.
The next shoe is an extension of adidas’s famous City Series: the Warszawa SPZL.
With its upper made of chestnut-brown suede featuring bright yellow stripes and a navy blue rubber outsole, it seamlessly bridges the past and the present.
The SPZL makes a comeback as a lesser-known low-top suede shoe from the adidas archive.
It features a unique lacing system with rope laces, a brown suede upper, color-coordinated brown suede overlays, and a rubber outsole.
Last but not least, the adidas SPEZIAL Summer ’22 collection is rounded out with the Yabisah SPZL.
This sleek running shoe—the first to hail from the brand’s famous “Island Series”—returns as a perfect one-to-one recreation of the original.

Kicking things off is a new classic—the Calavadella Jacket—in a seasonal peach hue.
Next up are the Portinatx Shorts in a sand-colored version featuring an embroidered round Mod Trefoil emblem.
It wouldn’t be a special collection without a luxurious tracksuit, and this season, the Marnach TT is exactly that.
A sophisticated take on the Beckenbauer silhouette, the meticulously designed track top features tonal black details and silicone badges.
A selection of lightweight T-shirts and polos offers a range of perfect layering options as the months transition from warm to cold.
The seasonal collection is rounded out by a selection of accessories, including the classic Parbold II bag and a graphic patch bucket hat.
The launch of the adidas SPEZIAL Summer ’22 collection is accompanied by a campaign film that explores the early British electronic music scene and the industrial landscape of the North through a raw, honest portrayal of the band "Working Men’s Club" and its lead singer, Syd Minsky-Sargeant, in his hometown of Todmorden, England.
