Bella Newman’s FW25 campaign was shot using infrared photography and depicts the world in black and white—revealing what would otherwise remain hidden.
Filmed in the swamps and cave systems of the southern Appalachians, from Alabama to Cave Spring, Georgia, the campaign follows a group of figures who are both hunting and on the run.
Pursued by an invisible entity whose gaze pierces the visible spectrum, the landscape transforms into something alien.
Skin becomes clay, eyes turn into black voids, and veins stand out like taut roots. Infrared—a technology that reveals both the future and the past.
With this altered perception, ROA presents a collection that embodies transformation. Fall/Winter 2025 combines the performance DNA of alpine gear with urban, adaptable silhouettes.
The outerwear focuses on oversized cuts and modularity: boxy jackets, expandable back panels for backpacks, packable volumes, adjustable hems, and hoods.
In contrast, slim, ergonomic silhouettes—compression leggings, mesh dresses, and knit tops—hug the body like armor. Functionality is embedded in every detail: thumbholes, laser-cut ventilation, seamless knitting techniques, and double-layered knee panels.
The materials underscore this hybrid identity. Organic cotton and solvent-free water-repellent treatments meet traditional craftsmanship: mohair blends, twisted knits, and reinterpreted Fair Isle techniques for performance.
Different textures collide—shiny microripstop jackets, matte flannels, tactile fleece textures—while the color palette is inspired by the alpine landscape: glacier blue, moss green, earth brown, and stone gray.
ROA FW25 is an exploration of the boundaries between hunter and hunted, visibility and camouflage, nature and artifice. Drawing on the radical visual language of thermography—where life becomes visible through heat—ROA crafts a vision of outdoor performance that lies on the edge of the visible.
