Today, adidas and Manchester United are unveiling the Man Utd x Originals collection, which revisits popular pieces from the adidas archive and integrates them into today’s soccer culture.

This nostalgic collection is designed to capture the spirit of “away days” and the unconditional devotion of the fans who traveled to support the team during the remarkable seasons from 1988 to 1990.

Paying homage to the now-iconic design DNA of that era, the nine-piece collection offers a fresh take on famous legacy pieces as well as a range of commemorative items, including a hoodie, T-shirts, and a bench jacket.

The star of the collection is the Man Utd x Originals Third Jersey, which—rich in detail—is inspired by the same legendary jersey worn back then. Features include a jacquard fabric with “MUFC” lettering and a meticulously crafted ribbed collar with red and black trim.

In keeping with the original, the adidas Trefoil, the club crest, and other iconic sponsor logos from that era are applied to the jersey fabric using a soft, textured material.

To complement the jersey, there are matching shorts adorned with “MUFC” lettering on the side and made from a woven fabric that recreates both the look and feel of jerseys from decades ago.

An animated version of Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez wearing the new Man Utd x Originals third jersey will appear on the cover of the United We Stand fanzine this month.
The collection also includes the Man Utd x Bench Jacket, inspired by the jacket the manager wore on the sidelines but redesigned as a modern shell jacket.

This piece, along with a reimagined version of the hoodie the players wore off the field, comes in bold red, white, and black as a tribute to the original pieces. The Man Utd x Originals collection launches this month.
