adidas Originals is launching an extraordinary three-part collaboration in which Edison Chen’s CLOT and BAPE (A Bathing Ape) have teamed up to develop a radically reimagined version of the iconic Superstar.
This partnership brings together three influential creative forces from the international fashion scene to create a design that bridges East and West while pushing the boundaries of contemporary sneaker culture.
CLOT by Edison Chen has always stood for bringing cultures together and evolving streetwear with innovative ideas. His reinterpretation of the Superstar, which began in 2024, now continues in this collaboration.
The result is a design that centers on cultural storytelling and artisanal innovation. With a high-quality upper on a completely reimagined sole, Chen deliberately breaks with classic constructions without losing sight of the adidas Originals DNA.
BAPE, a long-standing partner of the brand, is known worldwide for its uncompromising streetwear aesthetic and signature camo pattern.
In this collaboration, CLOT’s precise craftsmanship meets BAPE’s visual energy to create a sneaker that exudes confidence, boldness, and stylistic independence.
At the heart of this release is a reimagined Superstar, which Edison Chen has transformed into a modern, premium-oriented design.
The model combines an off-white premium leather upper with quilted grooves, complemented by olive-colored cargo accents that add a utilitarian depth.
The 3-Stripes, the STA logo, and the heel overlay feature a fused graphic combining BAPE’s First Camo and the CLOT Silk Royale pattern—a striking visual contrast that highlights the signature styles of both brands.
The sand-colored Ripple outsole with a jagged tread pattern completely reinterprets the Superstar silhouette.
The iconic shell toe remains intact, while striking contrasts highlight the creative collaboration between the partners. The heel overlay, STA logo, and stripes feature a combination of BAPE’s First Camo and the embossed CLOT Silk Royale all-over print—a precise fusion of both visual worlds.
Subtle, embossed BAPE and CLOT branding rounds out the design. Collectible lace dubrés engraved with “CLOT” and “BAPE” add the final premium touch.
The adidas Originals Superstar by CLOT and BAPE, designed by Edison Chen, releases on December 5 and will be available at the following retailers: Asphaltgold and BSTN.
