The cast is led by Timothée Chalamet, joined by Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny, Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham and Trinity Rodman.
Told through Chalamet’s perspective, the film introduces a local crew that embodies the freedom of football and has ruled its pitch for decades.

In the film, Chalamet sets out to assemble a team capable of taking on Clive, Ruthie and Isaak, an almost unbeatable trio whose “win or go home” streak has survived generations of challengers.
Even 90s icons such as Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Alessandro Del Piero become part of their larger-than-life legend.

Visually, Backyard Legends combines a nostalgic soundtrack with 90s street and terrace style, analogue tech and era-defining hairstyles.

With a huge summer of sport ahead, adidas will also play a central role at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
As the official match ball provider and kit supplier to 14 participating federations, the brand will be present on the biggest stages in world football, as well as on the local pitches and backyards in between.
