Puma x Black Forest RS-Trck "Schwarzwälder Kirsch" Release Information
On September 23, 2023, the second model of the three-part Black Forest sneaker collection created by global sports company PUMA in collaboration with Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH will be released. The limited edition found its inspiration in the icons of the Black Forest and is thus dedicated to a tourist region for the first time.
After the prelude with the Slipstream Lo "Kuckuck" (Cuckoo), now follows the Puma x Black Forest RS Trck "Schwarzwälder Kirsch" (Black Forest Cake), which has the worldwide popular cake as a theme.
In addition to the Bollen hat, cuckoo clock and deep green forests in a fabulous natural landscape, the Black Forest cake is also considered an icon of the Black Forest.
"Through the cooperation with PUMA, we can draw attention to Black Forest topics worldwide in an innovative way, which is a great opportunity that I find quite unique," says Hansjörg Mair, Managing Director of Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH.
"The Black Forest gateau is and remains a synonym for the Black Forest and it is - along with the Bollenhut, the cuckoo clock and the fabulous natural landscape - an important and globally known ambassador for our vacation region. Because everyone knows and loves this sweet seduction from the Black Forest. One of the most important ingredients is Kirschwasser, as it is only produced here. Because only in the Black Forest do the right cherries grow for this noble brandy."
Anja Egger, Head of Marketing Central Europe at PUMA says about the cooperation: "The collaboration between us as a traditional sports company and the Black Forest as a vacation region with so many internationally known icons just fits. We are therefore very pleased to release the Black Forest in selected sneaker boutiques in the year of our 75th anniversary with the three-part Black Forest Sneaker Collection."
Black Forest cake is one of the most famous cakes in the world and certainly one of Germany's most distinctive culinary specialties.
With its incomparable combination of juicy cherries, fluffy sponge cake, creamy chocolate and a strong shot of kirsch, it embodies the essence of the Black Forest in a dessert.
Although the Black Forest gateau is now firmly associated with the Black Forest, the exact origin of this delicacy is not clear. Some sources suggest that the tart became popular in Germany in the first half of the 20th century, particularly in the 1920s and 1930s.
However, the key feature in naming the Black Forest gateau is not that it originated in the Black Forest, but because Black Forest kirsch, a schnapps distilled exclusively from cherries grown in this region, is an elementally important ingredient.
The Black Forest, a densely forested low mountain range in southwestern Germany, is known for many things - including its picturesque landscapes, traditional watchmaking and, of course, Black Forest kirsch. Kirsch schnapps is an integral part of Black Forest cake, and the cake itself has become a symbol of the Black Forest.
The region has a rich history of fruit growing, especially cherries, and the distillation of fruit schnapps has a long tradition here.
The popularity of the Black Forest gateau has undoubtedly contributed to tourism in the region. Many visitors not only want to experience the natural beauty of the Black Forest, but also enjoy this famous cake in their home region.
The cake is not only a culinary highlight, but also a showpiece of artisan confectionery with a regional identity that tells stories of craftsmanship, tradition and the unique culture of the Black Forest.
Black Forest cake is much more than just a dessert. It is a symbol of the Black Forest and of the rich traditions cultivated in this region of Germany.
The cake embodies the taste, culture and heritage of the Black Forest and remains an irresistible ambassador for all that makes this region so special.
Master chocolatier Lisa Rudiger has had her own confectionery shop in Titisee-Neustadt for years. The exquisite ingredients of her delicious creations all come from the region. In the film (at the end of this article), the chocolate artist demonstrates her sweet skills with a Black Forest cake.

This cake burns calories. When the Black Forest and sneakers meet, the result is an unexpected but intriguing symbiosis: the Puma x Black Forest RS-Trck "Schwarzwälder Kirsch".
From the very first glance, it is clear that this shoe is no ordinary sneaker. Inspired by the world-famous Black Forest cake, it is a tribute to German culture and craftsmanship.
The cherry red accents symbolize both the fresh cherries perched on top of the cake and also layered inside, giving this patisserie opus its distinctive touch. The tactile molded strip embodies the fluffy cream.
Delicate chocolate shavings designs on the insole complete the overall look and make the sneaker a real work of art.
A pendant on the side of the shoe is truly the cherry on the cake.
Puma RS stands for "Running System" and refers to a technology as well as a sneaker series from Puma, which was introduced in the 1980s. Originally, the RS system was developed for running and was characterized by special cushioning and comfort.
Over time, Puma has evolved the RS concept and released various models designed for both sports and casual wear. Especially in the late 2010s, the RS range experienced a revival thanks to the trend of retro running shoes and "dad sneakers". New models like the Puma RS-X were introduced and updated with modern designs and materials, while maintaining the signature look and feel of the original RS sneakers.
The newest member of the RS family, the RS-Trck offers a trail-inspired option, with protective elements and a rugged outsole for traction.
Accompanying the release in September, there is also an exclusive PUMA x Black Forest cake box to be won at selected premium sneaker stores.
In addition, each PUMA x Black Forest RS trck comes with a cherry pendant, a "sneaker napkin" (Sneaker Wipe by Sneaker LAB) and a Puma Black Forest Bakery cake server.
