VEJA and contemporary Brazilian fashion label P_____Andrade, founded by designers Pedro Andrade and Paula Kim, have collaborated for the first time. Together they have reimagined the Fitz Roy, a hiking shoe.
Pedro Andrade tells stories through his designs by incorporating Brazilian culture and nature into his creations.
“The inspiration for this shoe came from our interest in sealing systems. We first tested the shoe during an Amazon expedition and were impressed by its efficiency and aesthetics,” explained Pedro and Paula.
The partnership stands for the combination of nature, cosmopolitan fashion and innovation.
The colors used for this special edition of the Fitz Roy come from the Amazon rainforest and include earthy tones, shades of gray and blue, which reflect the facets of nature.
The Fitz Roy is made from Alveomesh, a breathable, flexible and lightweight material made from 100% recycled polyester.
The sole is made from 31% Amazonian rubber, which is equipped with grooves to ensure better grip and stability.
In addition, the shoe has a protective rock plate made from sugar cane and Amazonian rubber and inserted between the sole layers to protect against sharp rocks.
L-foam cushioning, which is made from 50% natural latex and reduces vibrations when walking to ensure a pleasant and comfortable hiking experience, provides additional comfort. The VEJA x Pedro Andrade Fitz Roy is made in Brazil. It will be published on October 24 and reflects VEJA's commitment to sustainable and innovative practices. The participating sneaker stores have not yet been determined.
VEJA sneakers are available online at 43einhalb, AFEW-Store, Asphaltgold, Der Stall, Fortytree, HHV, Jumpnshoez, Scoop86, SneakerTwins and SUPPA.
