The VEJA x Homecore sandal tells the story of a friendship—between Alexandre, the founder of Homecore, and Sébastien & Ghislain, the founders of VEJA.
They met in 2005 at the “Who’s Next” fashion trade show, right at the beginning of VEJA’s journey. At the end of a long day, Sébastien and Ghislain were sitting exhausted at their booth—after hundreds of conversations, a smoked cigarette in hand—when suddenly a tall, bald man approached them and shouted:
“You hypocrites! You’re working on an environmental project—I’ve heard you’re doing great things in Brazil—and then YOU SMOKE CIGARETTES?! Shame on you!”
The two VEJA founders had to laugh—and invited the unusual visitor to talk with them about cigarettes, organic cotton, and sustainability. It was the first day of their friendship with Alex.
Since then, they’ve traveled the world together and shared many adventures. Twenty years later, they wanted to create something together—and that’s how it came to be: a sandal.
Alex, the founder of Homecore, had a clear vision: an anatomically shaped sandal where the design adapts to the foot—not the other way around. Inspired by Anatomica, he believes that in product design, the shape of the foot is more important than the shape of the shoe.
This idea aligns perfectly with Homecore’s philosophy, which centers on the body’s well-being and harmony.
The VEJA x Homecore ANATOMICA Sandal was developed precisely with this spirit in mind—for maximum freedom of movement and natural comfort.
The unisex sandal is available in sizes 36 through 46 and will be available in stores on June 19.
