Vans is once again teaming up with Gallery Dept. for an exclusive collaboration within OTW by Vans — this time on Authentic 44. Inspired by the raw energy of an artist studio, every detail of this collaboration combines unconventional art with classic craftsmanship.
‍

‍
Each pair looks straight out of the studio: rough splashes of paint cover the toe box, while subtle signs of wear and dark accents give the outer material and side walls a raw, artistic depth.
‍

‍
The quarter panels and heel serve as an unadulterated canvas that focuses on artistic expression on the upper.
‍

‍
This collection celebrates the beauty of spontaneity and imperfection — an homage to the creative process. The lettering “Art That Kills” that runs around the sidewall stands for the uncompromising, fearless nature of artistic forms of expression.
‍

‍
The multidisciplinary artist Josué Thomas was inspired by his own creative process to design a shoe that is more than just a sneaker — it tells a story about artistic exploration and the power of individuality.
‍

‍
"The serial reproduction is a new approach for me, but at its core, it's still the same idea - art that moves transforms, and when it is worn, it becomes part of the wearer's story," says Josué.
‍

‍
From March 27, the Vans x Gallery Dept. OTW Authentic 44 is avaiable at select retailers such as Asphaltgold.
