Skateistan x Vans Collaboration featuring the Skate Sk8-Hi, Skate Era, and Skate Slip-On

Inspired by the community—Vans and Skateistan create a collection that showcases the power of skateboarding

As a brand that has been a global leader in the skateboarding, Vans has collaborated with the award-winning nonprofit organization Skateistan to create a new, meaningful footwear and apparel collection that celebrates the solidarity of the skate community as well as self-expression and creativity.

Founded in Afghanistan to empower youth through skateboarding and education, Skateistan has expanded its reach globally with projects in Cambodia, South Africa, Jordan, Bolivia, and Kenya.

As part of this collaboration—and driven by the spirit of community and cooperation embodied by the Vans x Skateistan collection—Vans is supporting the organization with a donation of $200,000.

Inspired by a shared belief that the power of skateboarding can make the world a better place—and by Skateistan’s skate students—the collection features reimagined, original versions of Vans classics like the Skate Sk8-Hi, Skate Era, and Skate Slip-On

and a head-to-toe apparel collection that radiates positive vibes.

The Skate Sk8-Hi features a unique checkerboard print combined with Skateistan graphics inspired by natural elements. The shoe’s outsole is adorned with Skateistan lettering.

The Skate Era and Skate Slip-On models also feature the iconic checkerboard pattern and a black upper, and

embroidered with playful motifs such as a sun with a smiley face, a flower, a dove, and a skateboard.

The women’s designs are guided by the motto “It’s Her Turn,” which adorns the back of a sturdy black cotton twill jacket—a tribute to Skateistan’s commitment to female empowerment through skateboarding.

A jersey-style T-shirt in Orchid Ice, cotton twill pants, the Realm backpack, and lightweight, ribbed socks with a jacquard pattern round out this part of the collection.

Among the key looks for men is the Versa Hoodie in vibrant lime green, made from cozy, coated, and water-repellent cotton fleece.

The Torey Jacket in black and the Off The Wall long-sleeve T-shirt in white feature Skateistan motifs on the right sleeve.

A black Off The Wall T-shirt with a dove motif on the right chest and a smiley sun on the back, along with a black camper hat, round out the men’s selection.

The Vans x Skateistan backpack and a black tote bag complete the looks.

Highlights of the kids’ range include the Sk8-Hi Zip, the Slip-On, and the Skate Mid for girls and boys.

The apparel selection also includes hoodies for girls and boys, as well as T-shirts featuring the signature Skateistan graphics. The girls’ T-shirt features the phrase “It’s Her Turn” printed on the back.

Vans and Skateistan have already launched a joint summer campaign this year to showcase what makes skateboarding so special—the streets, skateparks, and backyard pools, as well as the communities that have built skateboarding from the ground up.

As part of this campaign, Vans also donated $200,000 to the Tides Foundation to support Skateistan’s youth programs. The Vans x Skateistan collection is now available at Vans retailers.
