Casual Slip-On Style: Reebok Launches the Parka-Inspired Beatnik “Quilted Canvas Pack”

Reebok recognized the potential behind these rugged sandals as early as the 1990s. Back then, the company first launched the Beatnik silhouette. In the years that followed, the slipper took the international streetwear scene by storm with its laid-back look.
Due to the pandemic and the resulting trend toward joggers and loungewear, the Beatnik has experienced a real resurgence over the past year and a half. The shoe isn’t just a slipper for around the house—it can be styled with a wide variety of looks and is absolutely socially acceptable.
Reebok proved this back in June of this year when the company announced the first Beatnik Pack. The collection featured two colorways of the Beatnik, both of which were dyed using natural dyes. Now, Reebok is building on the success of its last collection with the “Quilted Canvas Pack.” The pack features the Beatnik in three colorways: “Vintage Blue,” “Fall Orange,” and “Flannel Grey.”
The sandals’ look is inspired by the warmth and comfort of quilted parka jackets in the style of the ’90s.
To achieve the padded look, Reebok adds several horizontal seams to the thick, vertical seam that runs across the entire midfoot—a detail we’re also familiar with from the “Natural Dye Pack.” These add extra texture to the upper, and the waffle pattern evokes the feel of cozy winter parkas.
In terms of color, the entire collection features natural, understated shades. “Vintage Blue” appears in a rich dark blue. A matte orange was chosen for “Fall Orange,” and “Flannel Grey” comes in a simple gray.
The casual look of the three Beatniks is complemented by black straps across the midfoot and heel. The light-colored midsole and the jagged, dark brown outsole accentuate the silhouette’s rugged look.
