PUMA has teamed up with creative outpost LAAMS on the Lower East Side to create a unique version of PUMA Suede that addresses the creative spirit and encourages artists to practice their craft in any medium of their choice.

The Suede LAAMS “Blank Canvas” is a DIY-inspired, double-layered sneaker that promises a customizable and artistic experience.

‍

Part artwork, part sneaker, the “Blank Canvas” suede features a removable canvas top layer that can be peeled off to reveal green, fluffy suede underneath.

‍

‍

This collaboration comes with the recommendation “Wear them into the ground” and encourages wearers to create something unique from this special suede.

‍

In addition to the tearable canvas upper and the hairy suede base layer, the PUMA x LAAMS Suede is packed with details such as fluffy laces, silver jewelry with the words “PUMA” and “LAAMS” and even a map of Manhattan's Lower East Side that can be seen on the shoe's outsole.

The special version of the Suede also comes with a printed tote bag and a special watercolor paper box, which serves as a canvas for your own work. After you've created your own work of art on the box, your submissions will be considered for a special issue and an exhibition at the LAAMS store.

The LAAMS Store will host an in-store release and transform its workshop into a studio for individual creations. Those who buy a pair of LAAMS x PUMA “Blank Canvas” Suede have the chance to work with creatives and makers to add individual accents to their suedes such as watercolor, distressing, airbrushing, custom stamping and sashiko stitching.
