It symbolizes Italian hospitality, a sense of friendship and family, getting together, and shared memories.
“Scopa” is a traditional card game; a game is synonymous with an invitation to feel welcome and stay as long as you like.
To celebrate the shoe and the theme in true style, the content creation took place in Milan—with none other than the legendary Italian goalkeeper, the “Eternal One,” Gianluigi Gigi Buffon.
He not only played in goal for Juventus Turin in over 500 games, but also for the Squadra Azzurra, the Italian national team, for over 20 years!
The Puma Palermo is a classic 1970s soccer shoe silhouette that gained some popularity in the 1980s in the terraces.
Typical for that era was the city name on the shoe, but especially the large “Palermo” label—a guarantee of success back then.
Nevertheless, the Palermo disappeared from the scene and was only rediscovered a few years ago in the archives in Herzogenaurach. The retro version has been available since 2023.
The Palermo “Scopa” comes in colors typical of the card game and features a high-quality combination of materials: rugged nylon, light blue nubuck, and gray suede. The red terry cloth lining provides a striking contrast. What a match!
Now for the details: The sun—the game’s most precious symbol—is visible through the translucent rubber outsole, and beneath the distinctive Palermo labels are small, hidden messages for the wearers.
