Stone Island and New Balance continue the series of collab releases that began in 2021 and announce the second drop of the New Balance 574 Legacy.
The two distinctive color variants of the new 574 Legacy show Stone Island's expertise in color research and testing, which has developed more than 60,000 different coloring recipes over the years.
The shades of green, mustard yellow, and gray of the new 574 Legacy are inspired by archival items from 1988, including the mid-green polyester microfiber silk-effect upper from AW '88'89 and the deep gray Panno Jacquard inner material bordered with mustard yellow stripes.
The latest iterations draw from Stone Island's rich material archive, which includes collections from 1987-1989, and offer an unexpected multi-textural approach to New Balance's historic silhouette, which has been slightly updated.
Nubuck sits on a ripstop upper inspired by an AW '88'89 archive made entirely of a layer of heat-sealed PVC, while the texture of the New Balance N Logos come from the rubber elbow patch of an SS '88 Raw Canvas blouson.
The design is completed by a nylon tongue and a terry collar based on the dazzling AW '88'89 nylon ripstop short parka,
a Stone Island Compass logo patch on the tongue inspired by an earlier logo with green stitching, reflective heel tabs, an EVA foam midsole with ENCAP technology and a rubber outsole.
The New Balance x Stone Island 574 Legacy will be available on June 14 at VooStore.
