For Grey Days 2026, New Balance introduces a special edition of the ABZORB 2000.
At the center is the distinctive full-length ABZORB sole unit, which gives the silhouette its futuristic character.
The model draws from classic performance runners, but reinterprets those references with a much more progressive and sculptural approach.

The focus is on the eye-catching full-length ABZORB sole unit, which combines classic ABZORB cushioning with distinctive ABZORB SBS pods.
The setup balances soft cushioning with a more stable ride, further emphasizing the silhouette’s technical character.

Thanks to its segmented sole design, the ABZORB 2000 feels significantly more technical and futuristic than many classic New Balance retro runners.
At the same time, the upper also draws from running influences of previous decades, reinterpreting them through flowing lines, reduced transitions and synthetic materials in a much more modern way.

Overall, the result is a silhouette that translates classic running DNA into a more progressive tech-runner aesthetic.

As part of the Grey Days campaign, the model is worn by Marvin Harrison Jr. The wide receiver is one of the key young athletes on New Balance’s roster and represents the brand’s new generation of multi-sport performance athletes.
His mix of football, training and lifestyle also aligns naturally with the technical design language of the ABZORB 2000.
