Innovative outdoor shoe manufacturer Merrell 1TRL has teamed up with renowned designer Nicole McLaughlin to reissue a classic from the Merrell archive — the Moc Speed Streak. This collaboration, called “The Moc-Laughlin,” combines tradition and modernity.

Nicole McLaughlin is a Colorado-based designer known for her avant-garde approach to fashion and sustainability. She uses her creativity to revive the Jungle Moc series.

McLaughlin, who is hailed as the queen of upcycling, challenges norms with her work while maintaining a unique aesthetic.

McLaughlin has a personal connection with Merrell, ranging from her father's admiration for the timeless Jungle Moc to her passion for nature and innovative design. This is how the idea of a collaboration with Merrell 1 TRL was born.

This collaboration took shape in 2020 and inspired a “slipper” design based on the Merrell Mocs. The result was a series of special Jungle Moc prototypes.

At the heart of this collaboration is the Moc Speed Streak, a shoe that draws from the depths of Merrell's historical archive. The shoe, redesigned by McLaughlin, is available in three different colors: OG Black/Amber as well as Birch/Hiviz and Coyote/Olive.

The commitment to sustainable materials and the incorporation of contemporary aesthetics come together to create a model that is a nod to Merrell's history.

The Moc Speed Streak Evo 1TRL combines sustainable design and comfort. The shoe's outer material is made from premium suede and 100% recycled mesh. The shoe has neoprene elements and a recycled pull tab on the heel.

The durable design includes a protective rubber toe cap and mesh lining. Cleansport NXT odour control and a removable footbed made from 50% recycled EVA foam provide additional comfort.

The lightweight midsole provides more stability. The design is rounded off by Merrell's rubber outsole.
