With the Fusion 2.0 OG, KARHU is bringing back a silhouette that is closely tied to its own running heritage.
The model was first reissued in 2018 as a tribute to the 1996 Fusion and is now making another comeback. The shoe deliberately stays true to the details that defined the original.
The White / Ultra Marine Green colorway, the printed Lycra at the ankle and heel collar, the shortened webbing tape, and the red KARHU wordmark on the heel tab all directly reference the design of the 1996 model. Rather than reinterpreting the Fusion 2.0 OG, KARHU is focusing on the sneaker’s original form and its connection to the brand’s archives.
The release is accompanied by a capsule collection consisting of two heavyweight cotton T-shirts, a sweatshirt, and two pairs of socks. The apparel pieces echo the shoe’s color scheme and expand the drop with a small collection that carries on the spirit of the original.
The campaign was shot by photographer Justine Leenarts. Her images explore the power of role models and how influential figures can shape one’s attitude, dreams, and movements.
In this context, the Fusion 2.0 OG itself is seen as a reference model: a sneaker from the archives that, even years later, has lost none of its impact.
