The second ROOS UNITED drop is coming up this Saturday. For this KangaROOS collaboration, Tornschuhjette (@tornschuhjette) and Kwills (@kwillsofficial) teamed up to work on the Ultralite OG silhouette. The release is inspired by the Port of Hamburg with its cargo ships and containers.

The shoe’s colorway is derived from one of the cargo ships seen in the harbor. The ’90s vintage basketball vibe, featuring monochromatic color-blocking and materials (suede, mesh, chenille), was key to honoring the model’s heritage.

The insoles feature a diptych of containers and are adorned with double branding. This branding also appears on the two additional pairs of laces.
A NYK Line cargo ship served as the inspiration for the color scheme. Details like the dark blue canvas tongue and the ROOS stripe made of chenille pay homage to the Navy sweaters worn at the port.

The Ultralite was Kwill and Tornschuhjette’s first choice, as they grew up wearing basketball shoes that are also perfect for skateboarding. In addition to the freighter reference, the colorway and materials pay homage to the color-blocking and designs of 1990s basketball and skateboarding shoes:
coarser mesh, suede overlays, cotton laces, and minimal branding. Dual branding is featured on the laces and the insole.

The KangaROOS x Tornschuhjette x Kwills ROOS UNITED Ultralite Made in Germany “TKK Line” will be available at 43einhalb, Asphaltgold, Fortytree, Gloryhole, HHV, Jumpnshoez, and SUPPA.
