Some originals become true classics. Others stay under the radar yet remain an important part of the archive.
With the third chapter of O.G. with a Twist, BSTN and adidas continue their joint series, revisiting original adidas silhouettes from a contemporary perspective. Rather than looking back through a nostalgic lens, the project sets out to showcase the breadth of the adidas archive.

Following reinterpretations of the Samba and Handball Spezial, the spotlight now shifts to the adidas Oregon Ultra Tech.

Originally released in the early 1990s, the Oregon Ultra Tech represents an era of running design defined by bold proportions, layered constructions and striking color combinations. Although the model never achieved the profile of some of adidas’ biggest classics, it demonstrates just how extensive the Three Stripes archive really is.

Rather than radically reworking the silhouette, BSTN and adidas take a more restrained approach this time. Two new seasonal colorways—White, Black and Light Blue, plus Lilac and Butter Yellow—put the Oregon Ultra Tech’s distinctive character center stage. Sometimes the best twist is simply knowing when not to overwork a design.

Marcelo takes center stage in the campaign.
Creative, relaxed and authentic, the Brazilian football star embodies the same understated confidence that defines the Oregon Ultra Tech today. Marcelo’s influence has always extended beyond the pitch. In that sense, he captures the spirit of a shoe that has long since moved beyond its original performance roots to find a new audience.
With the Oregon Ultra Tech, BSTN and adidas continue their O.G. with a Twist series centered on selected Originals. Chapter Three shows that the most interesting twists do not always begin with the most obvious choice.
The adidas x BSTN Oregon Ultra Tech launches on August 22 and will be available from BSTN.
